Pamela Branham-Brown
Corkscrew Wisdom was born from a passion to educate people about wine. Wine brings people together and guess what? It's always better when shared.
Pamela Branham-Brown is co-owner/operator of CORKSCREW WISDOM, an independent wine business that focuses on wine education through wine tastings (public and private), wine and food pairing events, and touring small groups to wine regions throughout the world.
Pamela is a Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 3 graduate and a current Diploma Candidate. Pamela is also a Napa Valley Wine Expert (NVWE) certified by the Napa Valley Wine Academy and a Piemonte Italian wine scholar. Pamela was certified through the Comité Champagne as a Champagne Specialist (CS).
Pamela began her wine education when, serving as a diplomat in Thailand, she volunteered to manage the wine program at the U.S. Consulate. This sparked Pamela’s passion for oenology and motivated her to seek further education upon her retirement from government service.
Pamela has studied and tasted premium wines at vineyards around the world, from Argentina, Portugal, Spain to New Zealand and Italy. Pamela holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from California Polytechnic University and a Master’s Degree in Science from Lamar University.
Laurie Branham-Brown
Laurie Branham-Brown is co-owner/operator of CORKSCREW WISDOM, an independent wine business that focuses on wine education through wine tastings (public and private), wine and food pairing events, and touring small groups to wine regions throughout the world.
Laurie is a Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 2 graduate and focuses on the operations and marketing. After a 30+ year career in sales and marketing, she brings expertise in expanding the brand.
Laurie joined Pamela in 2025 as a partner in the business and in life. When she is not organizing tours or events, she enjoys cooking, gardening and traveling. Originally from South Carolina, Laurie has embraced Louisiana as her home base and more often than not, enjoys a glass or two of wine.
